Log in to Confrere with an additional layer of security

For enhanced login security, team members can activate login with a one-time SMS security code in addition to their password.

This is often referred to as two-factor authentication (2FA), as it ensures that someone guessing or in some way getting hold of your password will still not be able to access your account.

You can turn on security code login from your Dashboard when you are logged into your Confrere.

Industry standard encryption

Video calling through Confrere is end-to-end encrypted. This means that only the participants of the video call can see or hear what is happening in the conversation. The technology Confrere is built on is called WebRTC, and we employ DTLS-SRTP, the industry standard for strong encryption.

We are currently also developing end-to-end encrypted group calls and have set up test accounts with existing Confrere users.

Data Protection Agreements and GDPR compliance

If you are doing business in any of the member states in the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EAA) and your video calls entail the handling of personal data, you are required to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Confrere offers Data Processing Agreements and makes it simple to offer services over video while in accordance with GDPR.

Business Associate Agreements and HIPAA

If your business is conducting healthcare in the US, you must be in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), if the video calls touch on Protected Health Info (PHI). You are also required to enter into a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Confrere. We make it simple to deliver telehealth services on video and comply with HIPAA.
