Industry standard encryption

Video calling through Confrere is end-to-end encrypted. This means that no one can see or hear what is happening in the conversation who isn’t supposed to. The technology Confrere is built on is called WebRTC, and we employ DTLS-SRTP, the industry standard for strong encryption.

Data Protection Agreements and GDPR compliance

If you are doing business in any of the member states in the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EAA) and your video calls entail the handling of personal data, you are required to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Confrere offers Data Processing Agreements and make it simple to offer services and video and be in accordance with GDPR.

Business Associate Agreements and HIPAA

If your business is conducting healthcare in the US, you must be in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), if the video calls touch on Protected Health Info (PHI). You are also required to enter into a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) with Confrere. We make it simple to deliver telehealth services on video and comply with HIPAA.
