Our dedicated team is continuously growing. From originally being based in Oslo, Norway, we are now working remotely from several locations throughout Europe and with one person based in New York, USA. We aim to create the world’s most effortless video calling tool.

Svein possesses a unique combination of both deep technical knowledge and product vision. He earned the first PhD in Digital Forensics in Scandinavia, and for several years worked as a Special Investigator solving data crimes for the Oslo police force, and restoring deleted text messages and hard drives. After selling his JavaME messaging startup a bit too soon to be acquired by Facebook, he founded appear.in in Telenor Digital, and led it until early 2017. Svein is particularly excited about development speed and thinks every day is a good day to deploy code (preferably several times). As an avid beer-lover, he makes sure all team dinners take place in an establishment with a beer menu of no less than 10 pages.

Dag-Inge was one of the first full-time engineers at appear.in and was Tech Lead for the premium service until July 2017. He has worked extensively with web technologies, infrastructure, and backend, in addition to having a deep knowledge of WebRTC. He has spoken at several conferences in international venues, including Japan, the United States, and Iceland. He believes wholeheartedly that user experience is everything, whether in your product, or in the code you write. Having a bit of a sweet tooth, he can often be found hovering around the nearest cake-serving celebration, hoping to grab a slice.

Ida worked for seven years in the Norwegian design consultancy Netlife Research in different roles such as UX designer, content strategist, project manager, and head of communications. She’s especially happy when she gets to work with people in fields different from her own. She has made it her mission to prove that there’s no such thing as no time and no resources when it comes to user testing. You simply have to be creative. Her other interest is in social media, on which she’s written two books that appear in the curricula of several Norwegian universities.

Before joining Confrere, Cornelia worked for 14 years at newspapers Aftenposten, Dagbladet and Morgenbladet as a cultural journalist, head of an opinion section, head of social media and head of editorial development. She has a masters degree in political science and used to arrange literary events for Oslo’s Litteratur på Blå. Cornelia prefers walking on asphalt and she loves the Eastern part of Oslo, where she lives.

Anders has spent the last six years as the Head of Administration for the Norwegian design consultancy Netlife, where he took great care of each and every customer and employee. Anders has excellent people skills. With this strength, and an eye for detail, he can understand and quickly adapt to the needs of others. He is known to work tirelessly to ensure that one’s experience is as good as it possibly can be. If you are a customer of Confrere, you will definitely hear from Anders. In his spare time, Anders co-founded an artisan cider brewery. It was started as a joke business, but then the joke business quickly grew into a real business, and his cider, Lovløs, can be found throughout all of Norway.

Before joining Confrere, Bri spent several years working with early stage tech startups as a venture capital investor and growth marketer. She loves all things data and robust processes, but also appreciates the beauty of good design and understanding the end users. A quintessential third culture kid, Bri grew up on 3 continents and has as an adult lived/ worked in Canada, the US, France, Denmark, and the UK. During her free time (these days), Bri is nerding out doing research at the University of Oxford at the intersection of political communication, social psychology, and sociology. She is also trying hard to polish her Swedish and eternally contemplating picking up pilates.

Ingvild is the first employee at Confrere. She worked four years at BEKK Consulting, a well known Norwegian consultancy firm, as a full stack developer in small and large projects. In recent years she’s specialized in frontend technologies, on which she has given several lectures and workshops. The intersection between user and technology engages her the most of all.

Rivkah is based in New York State’s Hudson Valley. She has been the content designer at Confrere since 2018, though her background is in art and early childhood education. Her favorite thing about working at Confrere is collaborating with passionate teammates to land on the most user-friendly solutions. When not in her home office, Rivkah likes going for walks, working in her studio, and being a sous-chef. When not in a pandemic, Rivkah likes going to museums, to the movies, and spending long hours with good friends.

Based in The Netherlands, Jayne has been a web developer for over 10 years. She is passionate about the developer community and welcoming all people into tech. She presents at conferences on topics ranging from ethics, teamwork, localization, and JavaScript specifications. Jayne also organises meetups and conferences in and around Amsterdam.

Julie is a digital designer from the Oslo area. Before joining Confrere’s team, she worked for the design consultancies Netlife and Railway, and studied graphic design at Westerdals, and visual communication at Bergen National Academy of Arts. Julie cares deeply about the quality of the user experience. She aims to reach users with designs that are as functional as they are beautiful. She loves working with interdisciplinary and diverse teams, and believes that such collaborations always lead to the greatest results. When not working, Julie is likely reading, spending time outdoors, or doing something creative.

Josep is a software engineer from Spain and currently based in Zurich. Before joining the team at Confrere, he worked at Doodle for 4 years where he transitioned from backend engineering to frontend. He now prefers a healthy balance of both, being a jack of all trades. Over the course of his career, his love of building for the web and his love of people have merged into a passion for accessibility. Josep aims to make web-based tools that help real people and that can do something good. He wants to spread the love for accessibility amongst his peers! When he’s not in front of a computer, Josep loves playing basketball. He loves music, too, both making and listening (however he’s better at the latter!).

Marie is both Danish and Norwegian, and now lives in Copenhagen. She has a BA from UiB as well as a master’s degree in Public Health Science from Uni. of Copenhagen. Prior to joining Confrere, Marie worked with cultural exchange in The Nordics, health research and in politics at 'Borgen', the Danish Parliament. Marie joined Confrere as a freelance consultant in June 2019, but soon became crucial as our new full time Head of Customer Success when the Corona outbreak caused a quick rise in the number of video calls being made with us. When she is not busy leading the support team and making sure ours are the happiest customers, she loves hunting for treasures at local flea markets.

Max joined Confrere in May 2020. As our Content Strategist, he is passionate about developing precise, sharp and user-friendly content that resonates with everyone using our product. Shortly before joining Confrere, Max graduated with an MSc Public Health. Based in Berlin, Max developed his approach to content and healthcare expertise as a research assistant at the Berlin hub for the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies. Max formerly volunteered in queer community health projects, worked as a health advisor, employment counsellor, and user support agent. He's passionate about urban photography, black coffee, and spending time outdoors.

Alex is a designer based in Amsterdam. Originally from the UK, he studied at London’s Central Saint Martins college in an era when digital design was affectionately known as “e-graphics”. After an early foray in the film industry, Alex has since worked for over 15 years across different design disciplines. He is passionate about the role of technology in improving healthcare delivery and has partnered with various institutions around the world to help improve patient services. Outside of work and as an antidote to life in the flatlands, he can often be found dragging his mountain bike onto an aeroplane or some other vehicle in search of the “perfect trail” – and loves nothing more than finishing a day in the hills with tea and good cake.

Andrea is an American-Norwegian currently based in Oslo and Lofoten. Before joining Confrere, she produced cultural events, but you can still find her working with theaters and music scenes around Norway. Andrea loves applying her talents for organization, personal connection, and problem solving in her role as Confrere’s Customer Success Specialist. She enjoys bringing customer feedback to her teammates and collaborating with the different disciplines to find great solutions to customer needs. Andrea loves swimming in the ocean, hiking in the mountains, going to movies and shows, and she loves being with people (and hates it when she has FOMO).

Nienke is a software engineer based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She has previously worked for the Dutch public broadcasting organisation, where she focused on frontend development and developer tooling. She is excited about web technology, accessibility, and working closely with visual designers, content designers, and customer care agents to create the best user experience possible. She loves yoga, hiking in Scotland, cats, and coffee.

Paweł is a software engineer, based in Katowice, Poland. Before joining Confrere, he worked for Clearcode as a backend engineer, where he also helped organize internal knowledge sharing initiatives, as well as open company meetups. He is now focusing at becoming a full-stack developer and creating accessible web applications. Outside of work, Paweł enjoys photography and collecting technological oddities, like old calculating machines.

Susan is a Norwegian-born Chinese Londoner with ten years of experience in UX design and discovery. More recently, she has worked in hybrid product design/product management roles at growth-stage start-ups in London, UK. Susan is passionate about speaking to users as often and regularly as possible, empowering product teams to own and solve problems together, and inclusive design. She has a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Human Computer Interaction from University College London. Outside of work, Susan loves lifting weights and drinking peated whiskey - preferably not at the same time.

Tamara is born around and based in Amsterdam where she lives with her boyfriend and two cats in the heart of the Red Light District. She is a self-proclaimed language nerd who studied English and Library Science but ended up in IT and stayed because she loves working on different skills and with different people as well as learning something new every day. She has previously worked in several customer care and project management roles in IT and most recently in the Rotterdam Public Library. At Confrere, she will be working as a technical customer care specialist and especially as a liaison between support representatives and engineering. She enjoys connecting different people and ideas, and solving customer queries. Her education sort of gives away that she loves reading, and she loves watching movies and plays. She also enjoys long walks in the city or out in nature, and has an obsession with plants!

Tirill is Norwegian, but based in Copenhagen where she is finishing her studies in Business Administration and Information Systems at CBS. She joined Confrere in March 2020 as customer support when the company experienced an enormous increase in customers. By having a technical and usability focus, Tirill loves helping our customers understand our product, and to bring insights from the customers to improve our service and workflow. Tirill loves planning social activities and likes to challenge the idea that remote working makes it harder to stay connected to your coworkers. The best thing about working at Confrere is that you feel that you belong and the fact that YOU work here matters to others. When Tirill is not working, she loves being outdoors doing different activities, traveling and trying new things.

Thea grew up in Oslo in a British-Norwegian household, and now lives in a beautiful rural area nearby. Her background is in music and podcasting —both for which she writes and records— and she holds a BA in Culture & Communications from UiO. She joined Confrere in March 2020, and loves helping customers offer safe and quality video consultations as well as working with content and translations. As a bonus to finding the work meaningful, Thea is thrilled to find herself surrounded by wonderful colleagues and a great social environment at Confrere (all from the comfort of her own home!). When she is not at her desk, she is usually out in nature, cooking something tasty from the vegetables in her garden, or performing music as Thea & The Wild.

David was born and raised in Nuuk, the capital of Greenland and now lives with his new little family in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is of recent venturing into an exciting career within art installations and light art, combining his technological background with his very creative spirit. Excelling in both customer support, translation and user testing, he is a great asset to our support team which he joined in March 2020. When not working on one of his many projects, he prefers spending his spare time with his lovely little daughter and playing some tunes on his guitar.

Aline is originally from Germany, but has spent the last years working in the States and traveling around South America. Before that, she studied cultural science/politics and journalism & creative writing in Germany, Norway and Spain. Since 2018, she has lived in Oslo where she spends most of her time drawing, writing and reading. She also has hobbies which include other human beings, such as playing Dungeons & Dragons and performing Impro theater. She joined the Confrere-Team during the summer of 2020 and now works with content, translation & support. She loves the diversity of her different tasks and is excited about learning something new every day.

Sophia is originally from Munich, Germany but is currently based in Copenhagen. Here she is finishing her Master’s degree in Criminology at Malmö University. In September 2020, she joined the support team at Confrere. She loves using the insights gained from her work in support to improve and optimize our product as well as learning more about using data the best way possible. Sophia thoroughly enjoys working for Confrere because of the great team and the fact that every opinion matters but also because she believes that we simply have the best product. In her spare time, she loves being outdoors, either it’s doing Pilates, enjoying a sauna or cold-water bathing. She's also interested in history and Scandinavian design and enjoys being active. And of course, her first cup of coffee in the morning.

Kim is from Germany, currently based near Hamburg. Before joining Confrere's support team in November 2020, he worked for an international consulting firm whilst finishing his business studies. His current goal is to combine his already acquired knowledge with a deeper technical understanding of our product. In his spare time, he likes watching and engaging in almost all kinds of sports. These days, improving his kitesurfing skills is at the top of his list.
